New York's Hot 97 Radio Coming to Atlanta TV?

And now the countdown begins to when Urban One files a C&D over using the "Hot" name in the ATL.
Entering "Hot" and an FM frequency into a Google search usually summons a radio station using that positioner. I tried "Hot 92.3" and found one in California. Same for "Hot 101.7." "Hot 101.3" summoned one in Manitoba, Canada. Urban One hasn't been very successful in its legal saber-rattling, it would seem.

Hot97 TV has now added Hot97 News:

It reminds me a lot of MTV.

Hot is generic as a Federal trademark... However, there are also statewide service marks, which is also inapplicable in this case. The only place it would matter would be with Nielsen where Radio One would have "Hot" registered, but since Atlanta is a PPM market that also wouldn't suffice. Could Radio One claim brand confusion and attempt to go after MediaCo legally? Quite possibly, but I'm not a trademark lawyer.
