KSKO doesn't have a news director or news department, but I try my best to keep people updated especially when it comes to news/community info. I've been a big believer in "digital media" used as a compliment to the over the air radio product and while we don't utilize our website as much as other stations, we use Facebook and it's worked well for us.
Here's an example of how I use Facebook for KSKO, with a "Daily Morning Update", as we call it... a brief weather look, the local lunch menu, sunrise/sunset times and important community messages.
I don't just use FB for the morning stuff, but regularly post when other stuff comes in that doesn't make it into these updates... subsistence fishing or news reports from other stations which are obviously longer get their own posts quite often.
(I don't know why it shows the preview as "Log in" but it'll take you right to the KSKO FB page I'm talking about and you don't even need to be logged into FB or have a facebook account to see it)
