No more "Talk"?
No more "Talk"?
It probably is still. Look at COX's KRMG, WSB, WOKV, WHIO and WDBO. Great examples of using just "news" in its branding instead of "news/talk."
Is it possible that the phrase, News/Talk is taking on the same negative attribute as Oldies? Not just a positioning change, but some changes to their programming clock as well. Their local shows now run right up to the top/bottom of the hour as opposed to pre-Entercom.
It sounds like they are trying to beef up their local news presence, as well.

I think they have gone back to the News-Talk branding, rather than just News. And also, I was thinking since Entercom merged with CBS Radio they would go back to CBS News on WBT. But apparently they are still with ABC. And I believe they dropped WBTV as their local news partner down the hall and are now affiliating with WJZY FOX-46. Seems like they would have stayed with WBTV in the same building, but I guess since they are no longer co-owned it was some sort of business decision. But often you would have WBTV reporters drop by to discuss certain topics, even the weather guys. Apparently not so much anymore.
