NewsNation launches new Chicago studio as part of podcast push

Here are some of the shows NewsNation is pushing at their Chicago office.

The Nexstar-owned cable news operation is debuting “NewsNation’s Unreported with Meagan Medick,” a weekly video podcast focused on unconventional and often overlooked topics ranging from artificial intelligence and paranormal investigations to Bigfoot and other unexplained phenomena. The show builds on the success of “Reality Check with Ross Coulthart,” which NewsNation said has surpassed 100 million views on YouTube since launching in March 2024 and has ranked among the platform’s top 100 podcasts.

The network is also rolling out “Prove it with Batya!,” hosted by weekend anchor Batya Ungar-Sargon. The hour-long program streams live Monday through Thursday and centers on political and cultural debate, with a format designed to encourage direct viewer interaction through live comments and questions.

Another addition is “Hot Take with Jesse Weber,” which will stream twice weekly on YouTube beginning Tuesdays and Thursdays. The show blends commentary on politics, entertainment and high-profile legal stories with a faster-paced digital format aimed at younger online audiences.

Not that we can think of but there have been some talks that Nexstar owned stations that's currently affiliated with the big 4 to stop using their networks news clips for Newsnation. Note how this move gets Nexstar and Tegna stations to boost attention to NewsNation is yet to be seen here.
