NextMedia is not, and never has been, in Dallas and Chicago..they own FMs in the "Collar Counties" around Chicago, and are laughed at by clients when they try to pry "Chicago Rates" out of advertisers..as far as Dallas is concerned, they own a couple of FMs in the 'burbs..and that's it..
Their San Jose purchase pretty much cleaned out their original credit line several years ago, and was a direct departure from their original premise to recreate the Clear Channel model in small and medium markets..
Its been speculated that NM was offered around 27 million dollars for the Canton Cluster a couple of years ago..I think if somebody would bump it to 35 million, NM would bail in a heartbeat..but I doubt anybody would pay even that for two stations that are about to be overtaken in ratings, and likely already been regarding ad revenue.
