NGen Radio To Move To Digital Only On November 8

La Nueva once in a while plays Christian Salsa, Christian Bachata, Merengue
Great... music styles that appeal to nearly nobody in the Houston Hispanic community.

Any observations on the musical styles on Positiva 106.1 or Aliento 101.7?
Positiva plays Contemporary Christian Music ( what I call slow worship songs) Aliento does play some Reggaeton songs. But they also play mostly contemporary

I'm pretty sure there are a lot of donors for a Christian Reggaeton station, right David?
Yeah. I'd check how many, but I'm busy trying to sell a bridge over Hudson into New York.

Maybe they can work something out with Radio Vida, a popular Spanish Christian network from the RGV. Home | Radio Vida
I've heard everything from Christian contemporary music in Spanish to Christian Spanish regional Mexican music. They seem to have lots of talk as well. They have lots of full power stations, and work with several LPFMs around the nation and other international stations. Vida just added a new affiliate Sunday, KNIU-LP 97-7 in Kansas City. However the affiliate is so new that Vida doesn't have them listed on their website or include KNIU-LP in their top of hour ID, or didn't last I checked.

Or how about Praise and Worship music, like what CSN Radio used to play a lot a couple years back before they went Christian talk?

Whatever Hope Media Group's "VU" format is going to be, it is already decided and planned. The first call letter change was a couple of months ago, so they are probably putting the finishing touches on the new programming.

Already have that in the market with Air1.

I think the bridge everyone wants to sell is over the East River, not the Hudson...o_O
I'm developing a new bridge market; that Brooklyn property is overpriced.

Great sleuthing. I wish i would have thought to search the USPTO.

Looks like we called it!

Searches for www.vidaunida.com +.org +.net all bring up a Squarespace “under construcation” page. Of course none may have anything to do with the impending new format, but thought it was curious as you would think Hope Media Group has already reserved all the various permutations of their intended website.

You're right. These domains are owned by Hope Media Group, registered on May 25th.

Good try on covering it up, Hope Media. LOL Houston already has a lot of Spanish Christian. But maybe this one will be perfectly legal.

But the existing Spanish language religious stations are on dinky LPFMs or translators, as well as signal challenged AMs. KHVU and it’s siblings will have by far the best coverage.

I for one am quite curious to see what Hope Media Group will offer on its new Vida Unida service. With website registrations this past May it would appear they are taking the time to get it right.
