NHL "Winter Classic" Moved From 1 PM ET To 8 PM ET Due To Rain In Pittsburgh

NHL "Winter Classic" Moved From 1 PM ET To 8 PM ET Due To Rain In Pittsburgh

Boy, are we becoming a real "nation of wusses"... ::)

Anyway, what is NBC scheduled to air this afternoon? Pre-recorded sports packages? Or will they join the infomercial marathon cabal like three stations in the New York City area (WCBS, WNYW, WWOR) are?

Nothing to do with "being wusses". The rain will melt the ice.

Nothing to do with melting the ice. It's fine in the rain and the warm temps. It's the players' safety that was the concern - unlike football, which is made to be played in inclement weather, it could have been really dangerous to have players slipping around in the rain.

NBC filled the 1-4 PM slot with extended highlights from the first three Winter Classics and updates from Bob Costas and Mike Millbury. I appreciated it, if only because I missed last year's Classic at Fenway as a result of being stuck in Ohio with a flat tire
