Nighttime sample of a few northern stations from Tampa

In another thread, I told Radioman I would try to get a video of some Chicago stations received here at night.

There was nothing to hear on 670 or 890, so I got 720 and 780 and then included some other regulars from up north.

Here's a little band scan of WLW Cincinnati, WGN Chicago, WBBM Chicago, WCBS New York, and KMOX St. Louis.

WGN was coming in better than usual tonight.

Thanks for for posting that Gar. Enjoyed it very much.

Thanks for posting. Though, The Big One, 700 WLW, and our Baseball Hall of Fame Reds broadcaster didn't get enough hearing time.

As I posted, I have one of those Sangeans also, and I really like it.

Now if Radioman 148 would just post a photo of his Zenith R1000, I can die happy.

I will try to do that soon. Did you have one Icangelp?

Is the reception as good today as back then?
I could hardly get anything but the locals when I was in Tampa, in Citrus Park area. I've recently moved out of state, to Texas.
700, 750 & 1110 were the strongest skywaves, with 870 sometimes.

Lots of static. Even the locals suffered from this.
Now, I may not have moved the radio, a Yacht Boy 400, outside often, but recall DXing to be very difficult.
I do recall placing it near the window on occasion.

When I was in Florida many many years ago reception was good. There were less stations, less noise, and the skywaves at night were very good. Now of course it's a much different story.
