No audio for the TV channel via antenna 10-10 WWOO Westmoreland.

Trying to figure out what happened to audio for the TV channel via antenna 10-10 WWOO Westmoreland.

Looking for contact information.

I’m happy to have Decades and Movies! back but I can’t for the life of me understand why I’m getting WWOO at all, not to mention at such decent strength. I lives 30 miles north of Boston, I don’t get any other NH station, and my antenna points south. Isn’t WWOO low power?

WWOO is in downtown Boston on One Beacon St. Cities of license mean nothing for low power TV stations like this one.
Likewise, WLEK-LD:22-31 is licensed to Concord NH, but their stick is in Peabody (with 93.7, IIRC)!

WWOO has had a lot of trouble with their programming feeds the past couple of days.

NewsNet on 17.3 has been out (blank carrier) for a few days. Decades on 17.1 began breaking up a couple of nights ago, then completely went out (blank carrier) yesterday, followed by Movies! (17.2) going out last night. Maybe storm related?

Today, the video of Decades on 17.1 is back on but with no audio. Movies! on 17.2 is fully back on. NewsNet on 17.3 is still out.

Also, this channel has not had any programming text displays yet since it moved to Boston (don't know whether it did before).

The same owner will be moving WVCC-LD to the Cabot St Needham tower sometime soon on RF ch 6. I wonder if they will be carrying the same diginets?

These low power stations often have issues. WCRN-LD has had a very poor quality, intermittent, unwatchable signal for AntennaTV on ch 31-6 for months and does nothing to fix it. 31-6 is interestingly named "WVMAANT" so it may be receiving the feed somehow from WVMA-CD?

WVMA-CD is listed as the originating station for both WWOO-LD and WVCC-LD and all 3 are licensed to Westmoreland, NH, and show the same owner.

Just to make this more complicated - WVMA-CD's transmitter is actually in southern RI, near the CT line, and they recently requested a silent STA for WVMA-CD citing financial and technical issues.

WCRN is acting a a repeater for WVMA’s Antenna TV feed instead of getting it directly from the satellite. It’s likely due to a hardware limitation; there are only so many stations they can grab directly from the satellite without having to upgrade their equipment. And those low power stations are run on a shoestring. I’ve written to them multiple times about Antenna TV and the owner himself answers my emails.

I have a question. I understand about LP (Low power) but I have no idea what LD and CD are ~ I have even visited stations on the internet with these titles and nothing. What am I missing?

-CD and -LD both are both suffixes for low power TV stations. The -CD indicates a "Class A" low power station which has some protection from interference or being forced off the air by a new full power station, while the -LD has none.

WVMA-CD is using 250 watts directionally southwest from southern RI on the CT border. There is not a chance of that being received anywhere near MA. They could be using some sort of internet streaming or be doing it with a few microwave hops from somewhere. At the moment it is alternating between occasional freeze frames of Barney Miller, blank screens, and on-screen messages in the upper left showing "Poor Signal." alternating with "Unstable Signal." in simple green lettering. Does anyone recognize what device might generate those messages?

This has been happening for months - either no one knows or cares.

The limited height of their One Beacon St antenna put this one out of range for me. These low-power stations do have a lot of problems. WCRN-LD was completely off-the-air for around 24 hours during the recent snow and returned without AntennaTV - having on the screen only "poor signal".

Anyone else having problems finding WWOO tonight? I have no signal on 17.1 and .2

WWOO was apparently off the air for work last night. They came back on this morning, and apparently what they did was install a text display! Now I can see what show is on at a glance when I look through my channel menu! Before today, the text for WWOO just said "no information".

Their 17.3 subchannel "NewsNet" is still not working. Though it now has a text display description, that subchannel has only shown a black screen for several weeks. It was on for a while when it first moved to Boston a couple of months ago.

Sometimes it says "no signal", or right now, "unstable signal", and sometimes it says something like "Connection to WGN-TV unauthorized". WGN-TV Chicago airs Antenna TV on virtual 9.2 there, but how could WCRN-LD be using a Chicago station as a feed?

Interesting - thanks. My TV still says no information - I’ll have to check others.

Nexstar Media owns both WGN and AntennaTV, and AntennaTV originates from the WGN facilities in Chicago. However, what is flashing occasionally actually says WGN AM, with a Service ID of 20, placing this on the satellite Galaxy 14. AntennaTV has the Service ID of 30 on that satellite. So the signal must be received, when it works, by a satellite receiver with very limited bandwidth.

WCRN-LD's PSIP date/time is also off by about 4 days (currently set to 2/4/22 at about 5 AM), so they are not doing much better there. This is definitely run on a very low budget...
