They used to have someone go out in a car and report...no more....other than Lou Epton on 1060..(small audiance to be sure) everyone is in the pocket of the casinos and developers..

...on KGO KFI or KFBK etc. in California...you sometimes get a host that takes an institution: newspaper, industry, etc. to task once in a while...here you just have a bunch of lap dogs.

Look at Jeff Katz now on knew in SF...he "asked" whether Mormons got a better shake by the courts in Vegas and he was gone a shortly thereafter, the ever present JD Wells probably didn't do himself any favors by taking on the casinos and Metro from time to time.

To make it in this market you have to be complete suck ups like kxnt's Stock and Harris...which means the public interest suffers...

Au contraire. KDWN hosts have to suck up to their target demo, 75-plus early-bird-special hunting retirees, who think the Mexican landscapers outside their condo represent the vanguard of a force that will destroy the USA. Those who don't pander to this outlook (Basham) are exiled.

you may have a point...when the Plaza Hotel pressured them about the illegal alien stuff...they decided to mutually drop the Plaza connection....they did favor the cooking show over JD though...sucking up those informercial dollars
