No more Delilah on Friday and Saturday nights at mix

The TOM KENT RADIO NETWORK has added five more affiliates with SOUTH CENTRAL COMMUNICATIONS AC WJXA/NASHVILLE adding "Lovin’ Life, Livin’ the 80s" for FRIDAY nights 7p-12m and "The Ultimate Party" for SATURDAY nights 7p-12m. According to All Access...I don't see anything about this on Mix's website.

Tom Kent must really love himeself. Everything he's got has his name, literally, on it. LOL!!

No more "Girls Night Out" on Friday? Oh, darn. What will I do with myself. ??? !

Now if they can just find something else to put on in place of her Sun-Thurs ...

"I'm good enough, I'm smart enough, and doggone it, people like me." No wait, that's Stuart Smalley not Delilah.

Perhaps a show aimed at men...and hosted by..."Samson"..Rock, guns, power tools, cars..Tool Time on radio...surprised someone hasn't done that..

Get a grip.

Get a life. I was only kidding. I really couldn't care less if Delilah is on or not ...it's not a bad thing if she's on ... I was just poking a little fun at her because her show is so sappy. She even says that herself.

No. You didn't grasp the joke. (Concentrate here on "grasp".) If you can't decide what to do with yourself, get a grip of something you might have around to play with.

What a maroon.

Delilah is gone from Mix they have a whole new lineup now. Doug Hannah Sunday through Thursday nights and then Tom Kent 80's Friday and Saturday. We will see how this works out. But I know I won't be listening Sunday through Thursday nights.

Jason, with all due respect, why would you prefer Delilah to Doug? Doesn't seem to be your demographic. What else will you be listening to now?

So...it sounds like Premiere pulled Delilah from Mix. Hmmm, who will benefit? New evening show on The River maybe?

Kr0nic, seriously?
"So...it sounds like Premiere pulled Delilah from Mix."

Why in the world would Premiere do that? They are losing affiliates all over the place.

Why don't you just look at the ratings in the right demo for that time slot. If that ain't enough to say what's what, then you ain't gonna get any better or more honest confirmation. Delilah has been sliding for some time. Things were strong enough to prop her up. And, yes, DeLilah has had a rough time, especially since PPM. So it isn't a Mix-exclusive. From all the negative talk about her and Mix on here, it's a surprise there's no dancing in the streets or riots of glee. Premiere didn't pull a thing.
Now, on to what the potential of getting back to the basics and playing more Rupert at night....

Given that evenings have never really been radio's strongest daypart, I am surprised that any of this even makes any difference. She must have really been hemmorhaging (sp) their ratings for them to even consider a change of this nature.

Hasn't Mix 92.9 been #1 in the ratings for something like forever? I remember a time there for a while when they had a retro '70s program on Saturday evenings back in the '90s. I really missed it when they dropped that, because that was one of the few times when they weren't terminally boring and predictable! ::)

I think the name of the show was "Saturday Night Fever" and it was hosted locally by someone on staff at Mix 92.9 at the time, but I can't recall who it was. I was told by Brian Sargent the reason it was dropped was because 104.5 had just became Jammin' Hits and were basically playing the same format and songs that their Saturday night retro show was playing at the time. Jammin' Hits lasted less than a year before they became 104 the Core.

Seems like 106.7 also had a similar format back about that time. Too bad 92.9 didn't resume the "Saturday Night Fever" once the others vacated the format. But it seems that that is the way it is with radio. Any given format is either all over the radio dial, or it is non-existent. Seems to be no in-between.
