NO NAME to host CREEPY KOFY MOVIE TIME!

It looks like Radio Personality, NO NAME, will become a HORROR MOVIE TV HOST at KOFY TV 20. The show is called CREEPY KOFY MOVIE TIME and it will debut on NEW YEARS EVE (Actually Very Early New Years Day) from MIDNIGHT-2:AM. Then after that, The show will be on Every Late Saturday Night/Early Sunday Mornings during the same time period. I used to watch CREATURE FEATURES with BOB WILKINS on KTVU-2 back in the 1970's but I fear that NO NAME will be No BOB WILKINS!

I'm putting my requests in now. Anything with Arch Hall. Specifically Eega and The Sadist. One for the campy and one for the creepy. No Name's persona would fit right in.

Bob Wilkins was fine for his time, but who needs another host of the same genius? The great thing is: More homegrown TV.

But what about Sarah and No Name after dark. Their nightly show on CW 44? The recap of their morning show. Is that still even in production? Did they add Vinnie or kill the show when No Name was shown the door?

The show was killed before No Name was. Production costs exceeded revenue on the TV side.
Everybody Scrubs Frasier reruns are cheaper.

The very first movie to be shown is CARNIVAL OF SOULS on NEW YEARS EVE. The following Saturday will be another Z-Grade Classic: THE BRAIN THAT WOULDN'T DIE. I'm a big fan of ARCH HALL too. Actually that title is EEGAH not EEGA, but you were close. Speaking of which, Actor RICHARD KIEL played Eegah. He also played the Tall Alien in an episode of the classic TWILIGHT ZONE TV Show episode: TO SERVE MAN (It's A Cookbook! ;D ), Played JAWS in the 2 JAMES BOND movies and more recently in the ADAM SANDLER comedy, HAPPY GILMORE.

I don't recall Gabbert's KOFY/KTZO having a regularly slotted horror movie a la Creature Features (a couple of Vincent Price movies in 3-D, but nothing on a regular basis). However, the first Ch. 20, KEMO, had Shock Theatre (aka Shock-It-to-Me Theatre) hosted by Asmodeus. A couple of old commercials can be found on YouTube:

A tour of the Chateau Noir

'Twas the Night After Christmas

I wonder if there's any old video from KEMO still around in KOFY's archives, or if Asmodeus will get a shout-out at all? Sorry for the off-radio tangent, but it's funny that the original Ch. 20 got no mention when KBWB reinstated the KOFY call letters.

There was no mention of KEMO when KBWB reinstated the KOFY call letters as KEMO was not operated by JIM GABBERT. Channel 20 signed on the air on APRIL 1, 1968 by THE OVERMEYER COMPANY as a GENERAL ENTERTAINMENT INDEPENDENT. In 1971, KEMO went off the air temporarily and was sold to LEON CROSBY who had at one time, owned KMPX-106.9. The KEMO format during the CROSBY tenure was mostly ECLECTIC. Mostly SPANISH LANGUAGE with ENGLISH LANGUAGE RELIGIOUS PROGRAMMING, Sunday ASIAN PROGRAMMING, Morning STOCK MARKET/BUSINESS SHOWS and ALL NIGHT MOVIES hosted by the likes of OLD SOURDOUGH, LEON HESKETT and JOE BAVARESCO (who also did a variety talk show on KEMO). In 1980, JIM GABBERT bought Channel 20, changed the calls to KTZO and its id as TV 20. In 1986, The calls were changed to KOFY and in 1998 sold to GRANITE and calls changed to KBWB and finally changed again to KOFY this year. But ask anyone on the streets and most people will remember the JIM GABBERT incarnation of Channel 20 than the OVERMEYER or CROSBY versions.

Amazingly, Gabbert never did have a Horror Hosted TV Show though he did have those specials that you mentioned. I have heard that Fans of Elvira was trying to get Gabbert to pick up the syndicated "Movie Macabre" show to no avail and when KTVU cancelled "Creature Features" in 1984, Host John Stanley tried to shop the show at TV 20 but Gabbert was not interested.
