No Salem-Bev. football classic on radio...

It's a shame that local radio has disappeared in favor of satellite feeds

I thought WESX still had local programming, of a sort. Aren't most of its foreign-language religious programs low-budget productions of area churches and ministries, who pay to get them aired? Not exactly great mass-appeal radio, but it IS local.

Not exactly the full-service radio station that actually broadcast local info and didn't try to brand itself as a "Boston" station, either.

I understand the business end of this industry and I vowed to not become one of those "remember when" people who has problems adapting to how this industry has evolved, but as a LISTENER, it's a shame to not have WESX around anymore.

It is a shame, indeed. I spent my teenage years in Swampscott and remember hearing WESX's tape-delayed coverage of Swampscott-Marblehead (invariably a lopsided Swampscott win) on many Thanksgivings.

I find it hard to believe the new owners of WESX hadn't heard about the Thanksgiving football tradition until just this week. I wonder if anyone on the South Shore has asked the same owners about the games WJDA used to cover.

>too bad WMWM can't do it..<

Good point! Their sports dept. could find some kids from the two schools interested in radio and show 'em the ropes.

Anyone have a spare comrex unit lying around? Dial up or BroadBand?

UPDATE! WMWM will do it!
Thanks to help from Brian V of the boston-radio-interest list (and Mood Swings smooth jazz guy!)
Sorry we don't streamcast but if you're in the area, tune in (and bring your umbrella if you're going to the game...)

OR hear it online at , http://www.Moorestuffonline.com.
