No surprise, really. COVID extends holiday hiatus for LA TV productions

It's absolutely the right decision. Although considering the COVID situation in LA county, I'm shocked the county is merely requesting a halt in production instead of outright banning it (a la Santa Clara County in the Bay Area).

Depends on how long this goes. At some point, they have to deliver new shows. They don't have to do them in California. There will be other states that will try to lure them there. Production of these TV shows isn't driving up the Covid cases. That's happening in the general public. Shows like Saturday Night Live and The Voice are following all the protocols and getting new shows produced.

Similar responses for NBC and Warner Brothers over production Hiatus.

It's not terribly easy rot relocate programs, nor cheap. With multiple talent and studio space considerations among the multitude of issues, there's a lot at play.

Fremantle has announced that they are stopping production for obvious reasons.

You mean the closed border with Canada will force Lifetime to film their Seattle locations actually in Seattle? Oh, the humanity!
