"NOAA weather radio will be off the air for maintenance until further notice."

That's what the loop says on the weather service repeater in Austin.
TFN sounds ominous.

I talked to the folks at New Braunfels and they said they were off the air for some updates and should be back on by 1:30 p.m. today.

Everything sounds ominous coming out of the baritone version of those synthetic voices.

NOAA alerts are an important homeland security resource, so I doubt that it's gone very long. Could it be moving or getting an antenna or transmitter upgrade?

I'm glad they do this maintenance outside of storm season. :)

Maybe NOAA should go all HD digital and make them sound the city's names right. :p
