Not a Word on the "Wall of Sound" yet "Shot heard round the World"

Not a Word on the "Wall of Sound" yet "Shot heard round the World"

I have no pre-determined ideas here. I'm just amazed that nothing popped here about Phil Spector. The man created our history, which needs no introduction. yet falls like O.J.. There's no obligation to post here, it's just an acknowledgement that "what was" is recognized and what came to be is "undecided by many".

I bet you can find a LOT of discussion about this on the National boards. It isn't a topic specific to WNY radio so that's why it hasn't appeared yet.

Spector may have been a genius in the studio, but he did not relate well to humans, and became a fully-qualified nut job as time went on. Sonny Bono actually handled the artists during his "Wall of Sound" production session in the '60s.

There were several incidents where Spector pulled a gun on artists after 1970. If he hadn't been "Phil Spector", he would have either been in jail or in a mental health facility. It's just too bad that somebody had to die before they put him away, or at least took away his guns.

I'm not anti-gun by any means, but I am anti-nutcase with guns. This guy had demonstrable problems long before the killing.

Exactly. Regarding OJ, he was certainly a hot topic for obvious reasons in Western NY.

On the night of his conviction there was a thread, "Phil Spector Found Guilty". Anyway, I did not notice that any of the Wall of Sound artists came running to his aid.
