I feel pretty confident that Whitney Houston's national anthem and the other patriotic songs mentioned would have been played as part of Red, White and Boom coverage. Granted that was just four days after the infamous derecho pummeled central Ohio, but all other things being equal, Red, White and Boom would have been that night.
That was also a brutally hot stretch. The derecho did not cool things off at all. The high was 95 that July 3 and it hit 100 on the 4th as well as the 6th and 7th.
