Been listening occasionally, but I think Radio y Mexico in Morristown is history. I hear ESPN radio now and I swear I heard Shaun Hannity too. Just thought I'd throw that in. Guess the Mexican's decided to hoard their
cash for the Mexican elections. Arriba! an delay

I've noticed it's been sports and talk for a few weeks now. Excatly what we need, more sports and more talk on FM. Oh well, I can hardly receive the signal anyway.

yeah, I think they moved the tower at one time. 94.1 was WAZI during high school(79-82) and even into the early 90's. It was a decent top 40 then. OOps I forgot, it was on 95.9 before they gave it to RZK.

They should have left it alone and not turned it Mexican to begin with. That way, a lot of good people that I used to work with would still have jobs.

I still have some old tape recordings from when WAZI (95.9) used to do their top 96 of the year. I have these from 1980 and 1981. If anyone is interested in these, I can surely dig up the tapes and do off some recordings. That used to be my favorite station back in the day.

Synthpop:
Do you remember any of the dj's back then? All I can think of is Bobby Rader(news chief of Radio Metcalf or, Radio Greeneville). A real professional or so he thinks so....He was ok back in 80-81.

There are two that I remember: Mike Mefford and Mike Walker. Mefford reminded me of TWSP with the same enthusiasm. There was also a guy who worked nights with a fake British accent. They said he sounded like crap when he tried to talk normal. That's all I remember from the old WAZI.
