Now that Country is back in NY and SF via HD-2...

What do you all think? Will this entice the country fans to go get a HD Radio?

You guys can hear Country 103.5-2 online at this address

I think that it is going to take some good advertising on the part of Clear Channel in order to get New York Country off the ground. The listenership is definetly there, however, unless you search for it, 103.5HD-2 is not very obvious to most. Also, I don't think alot of fans are going to spend that much for an HD Radio. The prices will eventually come down just like everything else. Just have to give it time. I hope that New York Country isn't destined to be just a "jukebox". After people become more aware of it's presence, I would hope that some local talent (DJ's) are employed. (that is what made the old Y-107) I would also hope that this takes off "big time" and someone puts a country station back on the "old" terrestrial FM.

This is a great committment from Clear Channel, but remember thie impact of this is far...far away. reasons are ovious, few receivers, etc. But it puts their brand out there and makes them the source for the future as it builds. Good move.
