Now that the Cowgirls season is over...

I don't hink they will do anything with it. CBS seems coommitted to the sports format. As much as it needs to go, I think they will stick it out. I could be wrong, but who knows. the need to dump jagger and put a Sports show in there even if it is The Fox morning show which is not bad. It is better than Jagger.

Nah, don't think so. There's Rangers pre-season coming up (even though I think 1080 will get the lion's share of those games), and with the ownership situation hopefully being resolved by then, there may be a reason to promote Rangers games on KRLD again.

Then again, it wouldn't take much to put all the games back on 1080 and flip 105.3 to something else. How much does voicetracking Top 40 cost versus paying a talker's salary?

I just heard a promo on The Fan saying, "We used to be #3, now we're #2". *Sounds to me like things are looking up at The Fan!

I am not going to bash 105.3. Everyone is saying when they may flip, but how do we know if CBS is willing to flip it. If they are meeting the goals established then why flip it. If their goal is to be the #2 sports station and at least take 5-10% of KTCK's business, then they have done their job.

We know they probably need a new morning show, but maybe Jagger is still there until his contract is up. Maybe CBS does not want to pay two personalities for NOT being on the air. Russ Martin was expendable because of the looming legal issues at the time KRLD-FM went all sports. Keeping Jagger around was probably the best alternative until his contrat runs out.

Who really knows?

So does that mean 105.3 keeps bad programming just becuase it is under contract and possibly killing the station? At least flush his sidekicks that stink. .. oh wait, that's the whole show

Sorry to disagree. I find the Jagger show to be one of the better morning shows in the market. And if CBS was looking to get out of the Jagger business, why would they have added him on the pre-game shows this season?

Its the same thing why Skip Murphy left K104 to go to KRNB. Service did not want to pay him to off the air, so stick him on KRNB afternoons until his contract ran out.

The difference being that Jagger still has an on-air morning show. So if they wanted to get rid of him, why increase his presence during the football season with a 3 hour pre-game show in addition to his regular gig? Maybe I'm missing something, but it makes no sense to me.

Who else did they have? I don't remember exactly when Salisbury was let go and Barsky and Henson brought in, but it was at least preseason, if not in-season...

If I remember correctly, Salisbury has been announced as part of the coverage, and they had to replace him- Newey was probably eliminated because of TV commitments, and they ended up with Jagger and Richie Whitt both in various roles.

I always figured they added Jagger out of desperation. Not because he was some acknowledged Cowboys expert, but because they needed a warm body.

Is it time to start The Fan deathwatch?

Rumors are going around that Dallas will go after National Champion Alabama's head coach Nick Saban. That might keep them afloat for a while.

Here are the ratings for December.
Ticket: 6.6 share (No. 2 in the entire market behind Hispanic juggernaut KLNO).
ESPN 103.3: 2.7 (No. 16)
The Fan 105.3: 2.1 (No. 24)

So according to these numbers The Ticket is No. 1, ESPN 103.3 is No. 2 and The Fan is No. 3. Nice try Fan.

I actually found Jagger quite refreshing in that extended role. Let's be honest, as many that rant on this board about it, it's Jagger's crew that keeps him down. He himself has quite an extensive resume that includes national programming- TV and radio. So CBS would be smart to keep him around with his versatility.
