Obit: Dennis Yost at 65... Lead Singer of ' 60s group The Classics Iv

They had their first national hit with ''Spooky'' and then a year later ''Stormy'' was a hit and Traces of '' made it to NO. 2 in 1969. That same year, they hit, the top 20 with ''Everyday With You Girl''. What a heck of a great singer now gone but sure wont be forgotton. All those songs was all my favorits by him. Rip Dennis Yost :(

Dennis Yost had a great voice..A great forgotten hit was "What Am I Crying For?"
#39- 1972..Everyday With You Girl was great too..He had a minor comeback hit in 1981 with a song called "Going Thru The Motions"...Another great singer gone...
Sad..

Hey Allen good to hear from you again I hope you are doing well :) I did to myself forgot that forgotten hit of he's myself. Even hes gone now at least we still got Gary Puckett And The Union Gap along with Three Dog Night, plus Gary Lewis And The Playboys that's still around. I can't name all the greatest singers of the 60's of all time besides of Yost. I know I'm missing a few, you said it right allen another great singer gone.

I am well 94Z. I hope you are..Just sittin here goin' thru some vinyl and finding some great tunes I haven't played in years. Among others I found Cliff Richard's version of "Donna". He does a great version from 1984...

Allen i 100% agree with you on that :D Cliff Richard was good back in he's heyday by the way is he still touring? Hey i found another tune most oldies stations even on WNCT Y102.9 dose not play anymore The Young Rascals (How Can I Be Sure) It's sad the way most oldies stations playlist has gone way done hill for a long time now not even hearing 50's music no more it's all the because of big corp just dosen't care no more about 50's and 60's music on oldies stations no more either. :( Hey Allen let's go buy a radio station and make it a true oldies station like WNCT once ways! Make it 50's and 60's music only by not repeating the same old playlist all day long!

Didn't he go on to do "Spooky" with Atlanta Rhythm Section?

That's the better version of that song.

I'm sick of hearing "Spooky" on STANDARDS radio. "Traces of Love" belongs there, "Stormy" is acceptable, but "Spooky" is not. Not even at Halloween.

For "Traces of Love" and maybe even "Stormy", I'll say this is sad news.

Who was the keyboard player for Atlanta Rhythm Section? Also, there was a jazz guitar solo on "Spooky". Not to be confused with the rock guitar solo.

Dean Daughtry played keyboards and I think that was Barry Bailey's guitar solo on "Spooky".Another great group..":Do It Or Die" is one of my favorite tunes of all time....

Now there are two different guitar solos. One is screaming rock guitar, which I don't like. The other sounds like Muzak in malls (from the days when that was done), which I do like.

If Dean Daughtry also played keyboards on "So Into You" I'm a fan.

I was looking them up and got into a big mess. "Robert Nix" redirected to a former Pennsylvania Chief Justice. Whose father was Pennsylvania's first black congressman.

Furthermore, theere was a disambiguation page for both men (meaning I had to change the article's name as well, since the drummer's initials likely aren't NC). I added Atlanta Rhythm Section's drummer to that page but there's no article on him.

I followed the rules about moving pages, which meant eliminating double redirects by going to "What links here". Several articles linked to one man or the other, but before i got there, the links intended for the congressman were redirecting to his son. I have also fixed the man's full name in the articles linking to him.
