Don Stewart, 70, a stage and screen actor best known for portraying Michael Bauer for 16 years on the CBS soap opera "Guiding Light," died Jan. 9 at his Santa Barbara home. He had been battling lung cancer and aplastic anemia.

After leaving "Guiding Light" in 1984, Stewart moved to California. His nearly 20 films include "Lost" (1983), "American Ninja" (1985) and the television movie "The Betty Ford Story" (1987).
