Obit: Edward Mallory @ 76, Dr. Bill Horton on "Days of Our Lives"

Edward Mallory, who portrayed the angst-ridden Dr. Bill Horton on the NBC daytime drama “Days of Our Lives” for 14 years, died...Wednesday. He was 76 and lived in Salisbury, Pa.

Mr. Mallory was best known for his role on “Days of Our Lives.” From 1966 to 1980 he portrayed a surgeon who pined for and eventually married his brother’s wife, after keeping secret the fact that he had fathered her son.

Didn't he and his real-life wife appear on "The Newlywed
Game" back around 1966? I've seen a picture of Bob Eubanks
talking to someone who obviously merits special treatment,
since he's standing. I'm almost positive this was Ed Mallory.

BTW, the Bill/Mickey (his brother)/Laura triangle was devised
by Bill Bell, who used umpteen variations on it on "The Young
And The Restless" and "The Bold And The Beautiful." Laura
was played by Susan Flannery, better known to today's viewers
as Stephanie Forrester on "B&B."
