Reinholt was primarily known as a soap actor but had worked on- and off-Broadway in various productions. His first TV work would be for a year (1967-1968) on The Secret Storm. Afterward, came the show and role that was undoubtedly the highlight of his career, as Another World's 'Steve Frame' from 1968-1975. 'Steve' would come to be a part of one of the most dynamic love triangles in daytime history. Sadly, backstage differences between Reinholt and the show's then-executive producer, the late Paul Rauch, as well as head writer Harding Lemay, led to Reinholt's firing. His leading lady, the late Jacqueline Courtney, was dismissed soon afterward. Reinholt's next soap role came on One Life to Live as 'Tony'; the show hired him after finding out of his departure from Another World (they knew well his popularity with fans at the time). That role would only last 2 years.
During the 25th anniversary week of Another World in 1989, George Reinholt would be lured back as 'Steve', in a more heavenly capacity (as the character had been killed off twice previously) -- this would prove to be his last daytime appearance.
On the 1994 CBS special, 50 Years of Soaps, Reinholt was reunited with Jacqueline Courtney in a short onstage segment (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KIrnuVEgP3A , starting at :47) that was preceded by a very rare clip of 'Steve' and 'Alice' in one of their last Another World scenes together. Reinholt's appearance on the special was likely his last publc appearance.
He passed away November 11 in a Pennsylvania hospital from cancer.
