OBIT: James Best, Dukes of Hazzard actor (1926-2015)

We have lost Rosco. James Best, who played the sheriff, passed away late Monday at the age of 88. He came to popularity as the sheriff on Dukes of Hazzard who not only chased the car around constantly, but who came up with the "cuff 'em and stuff 'em" catchphrase widely used today. He will be missed.

Of course, Best is best known for the bumbling Roscoe P. Coltrane character, but he was quite the actor. He guest starred in so many shows that I could never list them all out. Outstanding career and he will certainly be missed.

He had quite a career. From the Twilight Zone to Andy Griffith on TV and so many movie appearances. I'll miss him.

Interestingly enough, one of Best's Twilight Zone appearances ("The Grave" with James Coburn) aired Sunday night as part of a special night of counter-programming called "Vince Gilligan's Island of MeTV."
