Obit: Jim Hager, of the Hager Twins on "Hee Haw", at 66

Very sad indeed. He collapsed and died in the parking lot of a coffee shop possibly not knowing that he was having a heart attack. I always enjoyed their singing and comedy on Hee Haw. They also did more than comedy and singing, they also played a dramatic role in a 1978 episode of The Bionic Woman where they played twin mutes who were after a young Helen Hunt to take her back to their planet.

Indeed, I was surprised he wasn't all that old.
R.I.P., and I wish somebody would air "Hee Haw"
on a regular basis as PBS does with Lawrence Welk,
so we can continue to enjoy their work.

Just a thought, but I wonder if the Hagers inspired
Welk to hire the Otwell twins.

I'm with you on why Hee Haw isn't airing on some cable/satellite network. Basically CMT has turned into a country version of MTV with little/no country programming at all. GAC is basically a video network. I see where Crook and Chase have landed on RFD TV. Kudos for RFD TV for picking up their show. I know various Hee Haw DVD's were released a year or two ago, but I haven't seen any new ones getting released recently. CMT aired a couple of Hee Haw weekends in 06 and 07 but they only showed a small handfull of shows and replayed them over and over. There is an audience out there, so as to why no network picks up the show baffles me. It would be great to see Hee Haw airing again, maybe even on RFD.
