Obit: Joe Feeney at 76...Irish American tenor, starred on 'Lawrence Welk'

Feeney, who was one of the featured performers on Lawrence Welk's television programs, died April 16...(He)appeared...from 1957 until production ended in 1982.
He served in the Army during the Korean War and afterward won a spot on the television program "Talent Patrol." While working at a radio station in Omaha in 1956, the station manager sent recordings of Feeney's voice to Welk, who subsequently offered him a job.

Also on that same link, just after Joe Feeney's obit, is that of Al Wilson, noted R&B singer who had hits such as "Show and Tell", and "The Snake". He was 68.

Feeney's first appearance with Welk was on the
sister show, "Top Tunes And New Talent." Tap
dancer/marimba player/associate producer Jack
Imel also made his first appearance with Welk on
that show.

As for Al Wilson, I hate to hear about him; "Show
And Tell" has long been one of my favorite songs.
