Obit: Kevin McCarthy (Flamingo Road, many TV character roles), at 96

McCarthy had limited roles on The Survivors, Dynasty, Amanda's, The Colbys, Murder She Wrote, and The District. As busy in movies as on TV, McCarthy's best-known film role was likely in the 1950s' original Invasion of the Body Snatchers. He died Saturday from pneumonia.

He was also in two things that made the 1980 book The Worst TV Shows Ever: The ill-fated Harold Robbins' "The Survivors" which starred Lana Turner and George Hamilton; and the 1954 "color spectacular" Satins and Spurs which starred Betty Hutton.

Mention! I'm sorry, but that movie was a fine collection of desperate gags. No issues here.

oh......I still enjoy UHF (for reasons my spouse has never quite figured out).
I just think Mr. McCarthy would not have wanted it to be featured prominently
in his obit.
