Obit: Kevin McCarthy (Flamingo Road, many TV character roles), at 96

He was also in two things that made the 1980 book The Worst TV Shows Ever: The ill-fated Harold Robbins' "The Survivors" which starred Lana Turner and George Hamilton; and the 1954 "color spectacular" Satins and Spurs which starred Betty Hutton.

out of respect we shall not mention his role in Werid Al's movie, UHF........

(* Full Disclosure....I was one of exactly 3 patrons who attended it's premiere in a
Michigan theater. The others were my future wife and a kid down in the front row who
kept flipping his umbrella open and closed throughout the whole film. Why she went ahead
and married me after that I'll never know.)

Mention! I'm sorry, but that movie was a fine collection of desperate gags. No issues here.

oh......I still enjoy UHF (for reasons my spouse has never quite figured out).
I just think Mr. McCarthy would not have wanted it to be featured prominently
in his obit.

(you don't happen to be the guy who was flipping that umbrella, are you?)

Me? No, I'm no umbrella flipper...

(I'm thinking about the reality of that. Flipping. An umbrella. In a theater. Wha?!?)
