Very sad to hear...another legend has left our stage. There were several voiceovers, mostly commercials, that Haines did as well, IIRR. According to the interview posting below, Haines suffered in his last years from macular degeneration, which kept him from taking on any more acting roles.

He was a good actor. I really liked him and Jo together on Search For Tomorrow one of my grannies fav soaps
