Obit: Richard Ross, TV news anchor...KING-TV Seattle, KGW & KATU-TV in Portland

Richard Ross, who covered everything from the Columbus Day Storm of 1962 to the 1980 eruption of Mount St. Helens in 30 years as a Portland television news anchor, has died. He was 86.
Ross died Monday at his Lake Oswego home..He had been suffering from Alzheimer's and congestive heart failure...

During World War II, he served as a Marine Corps officer and...was involved with Armed Forces Broadcasting in China.
