October 3: This Day in TV History

Ultimajock qand TimL said, Chuck Schaden, Old Time Radio Guru, owned/managed that store for years. It was the main sponsor for Schaden's OTR shows on WBBM or WMAQ (Maybe WCFL) that id listen to at night back in the day.

Chuck is one of the world's nicest guys. His uncles owned a restaurant in Rensselaer, IN, where I owned a couple of radio stations. I've known Chuck for 30 years.

MGM was located only a few blocks from my grandmothers house in Chicago.

I heard the verdict while home for lunch from my pr job, while watching cnn in Grand Rapids, MI.

...Chuck never got onto WCFL; his main Saturday afternoon show was on WNIB for decades. Also not sure he ever got onto WMAQ regularly (Carl Amari of Radio Spirits had that gig IIRC). And indeed, Chuck is one of the nicest guys ever to speak into a live mic...

"Carl Amari of Radio Spirits"

He ws also the producer of the (radio) Twilight Zone on wgn, and other places.

Ultima, sorry for the wcfl reference, but I was quoting somene farther up the thread. The wnib years were good for Chuck.
