Odd station received in Great Plains in early 2000s- 800-990 Khz

I searched the threads trying to find something similar, but no luck.

In the early 2000s, before 2004, maybe even late 90s, I recall hearing a powerful AM at night out of Canada, IIRC.
This station seemed to have a Catholic format, but wasn't like today's EWTN or Relevant Radio.
Deep Catholic, if that makes any sense. I may have the details wrong, but that's what I recall.

The station was very strong on the cheap AM/FM I would scan at my grandparents' home in western Kansas, near Hays, KS.
This was an older radio where you would rotate the tuning knob.

I recall being struck about how powerful it was. It seemed ubiquitous, if that makes sense. I didn't go looking for it, it was there and unavoidable. Like a big blurb or splotch on the dial.

I seem to recall it being 800-1000 khz, but closer to 800-900. I don't remember listening for a TOH ID or gaining any other info on it, but did receive it several times while in the High Plains.

Anyone recall this one?
