Hi all, I've also posted this in Rodney Ho's original thread which may be a better place to keep the conversation going, just giving this it's own thread to be sure it gets communicated (and board editor if you want to pin this and maybe lock it down and give myself and Rodney Ho edit rights if that's a good idea feel free to).

This is the official funeral announcement. In Jewish tradition, there will also be a gathering held after the funeral, so the funeral is this Tuesday, the "shiva gathering" will be the following Sunday on April 15 (this would usually happen sooner, but the Passover holiday delays it). And they are not mutually exclusive of each other, feel free to attend one, the other, or both:

The Funeral will be held at Crestlawn Memorial Park (2000 Marietta Boulevard NW, 30318) on
Tuesday, April 10 at 2:00 PM

A shiva gathering for friends will be held on Sunday Night, April 15 at 7:30 PM at the home of Leonard and Julia Sacks
1145 Old Powers Ferry Road NE, Sandy Springs, 30327).

followup on final arrangements from Neil's rabbi (once again posted in both places). If your one of those people who might fall into the catagory that he references below, PM me and I'll connect you two.

"Dear Friends,
It is perhaps very appropriate that Neils' final exodus took place at Passover night, on the anniversary of the Jewish people's exodus. Neil was very serious about not using his phone on the Sabbath and festivals, so there, too, it is only appropriate that I've been "off air" for much of the time since his passing.

This is to confirm that funeral services will be held at Crestlawn memorial park (2000 Marietta Blvd, Atlanta GA 30318) at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, April 10th. A gathering for friends will be held on April 15th at 7:30 PM at the home of Leonard and Julia Sacks

I am finalizing plans for the funeral service itself. Neil was a man who loved words, and had many friends from many walks of life. For practical purposes, there is a limit to the number who will be able to speak graveside- let me know as well if you feel strongly that you would like to speak. Alternatively, let me suggest that if there are stories that you think Neil would want shared, let me know that and I will make sure that they are incorporated in the service, within reason. In addition the gathering next Sunday night will provide another opportunity to share our memories and reflections."
