Ok I've got to call BS on the bert show. How often are call in bits faked?

Ok after listening to the bert show for a week or so, I'm moving on. Maybe mike and mike...

This morning they did some bit on a take off of lost teen's of rockdale replay. Teens calling in talking about the sex parties they attend and how common it is. I almost was buying into it when one girl makes some comment like boys don't know how to use condoms because they aren't taught how to in school. Then adds they are only taught abstinence.

Give me a break. So these teens who are having sex parties, downloading porn, smoking pot, creating my space pages can do all of these things with apparently no formal instruction but cannot use a condom because they aren't taught how in school? BS political statement. Turn the dial.

How often are call in bits faked?

For the longtime posters...what year is this?

We discussed this at length at least five years ago. Most of the "bits" are just that, comedy bits starring actors from other markets. You will notice that none of the callers has a Southern accent. Nor will they say what high school they attend, where they do all the crazy things or how they got into it. How about this question, how does The Bert Show find out about it? When I was in HS, I never told the entire school that I was smoking weed at lunch. In addition, I certainly would not use my name ad have it go out on the #1 rated 18-24 morning show.

You are correct to call "shenanigans" on TBS.

What do you expect from a moron like Bert. Nice Hairdo. What are you 18 and going to UGA. If those bits were true they would have the most dysfubnctional listeners ever. That is probably why the use the voice disguiser because it is the same person over and over again. Bert is lame.

I had to look it up...I wasn't sure where you could actually hear Mike & Mike....

Re: Fake calls

In this day and age with FCC fining stations for small infractions look for any show doing prank phone calls or "phone scams" they are fake!!! You can not have a person on a phone on the air without their knowledge or consent. There are companies that provide actors for these set up calls or jocks get their friends in other markets to do it. The best of all was a bit that every top 40 station in America did...War of the Roses. That bit is so fake it is scary but but people bought into it. Weird how there was never a lawsuit fallowing that bit and how the person they called "live" everytime they did the bit was a cheating husdband what are the odds of that? I'd say pretty good on a man hating woman empowering top 40 station.

I remember the Morning X doing bits where they'd slip in a REALLY quick "you're on the air"...and it would be said so fast that the person wouldn't have heard it, even though the station did what they needed to do LEGALLY to get the bit.

The worst was when they had LISTENERS try to do bits like that. They'd have to slip in a quick "you're on the air", and it just never worked.

Slipping in a quick "you're on the air" worked back in the day but there is too much at stake now. I know for a fact that in the last few years when Susquehanna still owned X and Q, quickly slipping "you're on the air" in was no longer tolerated. They were very paranoid aboout getting popped for that. Trust me, the "phone scams" Q does are fake. I have seen it.

If hes doing fake phone scams and phone bits.. and he's #1.. then his listeners must be as dumb and uncreative as him....

Of course they are. they are chicks, who don't expect much from their entertainment. They like mischievious but safe and gay dudes who just want to hear someone else crying to somehow drown out the judgmental screams of their fathers echoing in their heads
