Old news story about WLS that still fascinates me.

I don't know if this was brought up here this past fall, so I apologize if I'm bringing up something that was already dealt with. But, when I think of questionable moves in Chicago radio this year, I can't help but wonder what the ABC suits were thinking when they moved Noterdame Football from WMVP to WLS. The pre and post games were handled by WMVP staff. Plus, the Kevin White show which features Noterdame's athletic director still airs on WMVP. Finally, various talk programs on WLS were interrupted each week for the games. Aside from pitching in and carrying sports when needed due to conflict, WLS does not traditionally market themselves to the sports audience. So, why do you think the move of Noterdame Football was made from WMVP to WLS?

This has to be the biggest "duh" I've done in a long time

MONEY....duh!

OK all knowing one... explain to us that arent as smart as you why the money would be on WLS instead of WMVP. Both are decent signals, but to me (and again I may not be as smart as you) it makes more sense to have a sports event on a SPORTS STATION and keep the (what I assume) are money making talk shows on WLS.

That's exactly what I was going to say, but you beat me to it. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Hay K9eZ! Now! Now! Let's not jump so quickly on Mr. Duh! After more thought, I think I've learned something from him. You see, WZZN is without a PD. I think I should apply for it and suggest that next November, when UIC starts up, they could move their broadcasts over to True Oldies for no apparent reason! Lol!

I can`t help you with the Notre Dame question, but WZZN does
now have a PD, the illustrious Jeff "Spaceball" Schwartz.
Schwartz is PD for both WMVP & WZZN. Before joining ABC,
Schwartz was PD and chief babysitter for the playpen at
WCKG, 105.9. In that role, Schwartz basically had to
accede to whatever demands PM "cash machine" Steve Dahl
made of the station and Infinity Broadcasting. One week
while Dahl was on vacation, Schwartz high-tailed it out
of `CKG and walked over to ESPN Radio and became the new
PD at WMVP. Dahl was not pleased, I can assure you of that.
