Old Spartanburg AM 910 Word Feature today on XM Radio 60's Channel 6

Pretty good, although a lot from the late 70s. Way after their heyday. Finding much WORD stuff out there is very difficult. reelradio has that Pams package, but all and all, it is very rare. Little left from back then. I would like to hear the early stuff. Mojo Man, Chuck Cannon, Bob Morgan's first tour as Robert W. etc.

Robert W. Morgan; "Bouncin' Bob" Canada, your ol' DJ; yeah, the good ole days.

Anybody know what happened to Mel Black? I worked for him/with him at WSPA in the 70's.

Hank

I haven't talked to Mel in forever. I remember late one night several of us including Mel were standing out in the parking lot shooting up the dumpster in the WORD parking lot over on the far side. My shotgun with slugs wasn't doing a lot to it, then Mel pulls out this big .44 and starts blasting away hahahah. That poor dumpster :) I have some reels of WORD spots and some old airchecks, need to bring a reel home from work and some spray silicone to see if I can get a a pass out of them and get them where I can post on line. Hey if anyone has a copy of that XM program on WORD, I'd love to get it please! Here's a site I did awhile back of some WORD memorabilia I found going through old stuff. I'll post more as I get time and find more stuff to post --> http://www.nowherenet.org/cj/word/ I used to have some of the original master reels of various WORD jingle packages, gave them to Tony Brooks years ago and I think he might've disposed of them :/ (think "Music Loving Boom Boom Cannon! Double you ooo rrrr ddddeee")
