@Retro, if you live in Providence area, if you like this music, I urge you to check out 1450am, and 1340am. They are an affilate of ABC Radio Network 24 Hour Network called "Timeless Favorites" They play soft rock from 1960s, 70s, 80s, and early 90s. It's niiiceee
You have to live very close to West Warwick, RI or New Bedford, MA to truly appreciate those stations, because the signals are so weak, just 1000 watts. If you are driving and you are more than a few miles away, count on hearing a lot of static.
I picked up 1340am driving down 95 in Avon, Ma/Brockton area. I started picking up 1450am when I was closer to Providence. I still got both stations when I was staying in Newport. This was back around 2002 when both stations used to carry Classic R&B format from ABC Radio Network

Thanks Radiojay and, LAUROJRM!

I remember now, WESX and WJDA used to carry "Unforgettable Favorites" which I believe ABC discontinued instead. I actually preferred that format to WBOQ, but the later has really gorwn on me though.

How was the reception in the Avon and Brockton area on 1340 WNBH? You must have had static. If not, that's a darn good radio. I get static on 1450 WLKW just driving in Johnston, RI, a few miles away from West Warwick, RI. It does not even scan in Johnston. Also my car antenna is located in the rear next to the trunk, so engine noise would not have been much of an issue.

Nah, it should still be on.

Wow, I was wrong. Just tuned to Oldies to pick up Lost 45s a little late and there's no Barry Scott and no Lost 45s although the website says he is on. After all that promotion about Brian Wilson for weeks, they pre-empt it for Christmas music. I feel gyped. I'm assuming this means that there was no Mighty Mike last night, no Wolfman last night and no AT40 this morning or tonight. Good God. This is worse than Ryan Seacrest and Tom Kent taking over the world. If I was Barry, I'd be pi$$ed.

We'll have to rely on the streaming from Lost45s.com.

From various scans along the radio dial the last several days, I'm now hearing 'Do They Know It's Christmas Time (Feed The World" for the forth time.

FEEEEEEEEED THE World. ;D

And now I'm heading back to The Pike.

And now, an hour and a half later, it's playing AGAIN! ???

Unless I'm mistaken, the streaming link from the Lost45s sight reverted back to Oldies 103 and they weren't playing the show. And checking the couple of different music links on Lost 45s, none was a new show with a Brian Wilson interview. Poor Barry. He needs to find a new station or just go live on his site.

According to the Lost 45s website, Brian Wilson "will air at a later date."

I like the Christmas format but I wished they had waited until after the Brian Wilson interview to switch over, I was looking forward to it. That was a bummer.

They've updated the site since late last night. It says Online shows only start this Wednesday and that "Our Brian Wilson interview will air at a later date, due to the Christmas format that Santa brought early to Oldies 103.3!"

A "later date" no doubt means Sunday December 28th.

@Radiojay1, Yes, in Avon and Brockton area, 1340 came in perfect. I was in a Jeep Cheroke, yes, that radio must have been good. My former coworker lives in Brockton, he's the one that told me about those stations.
When I was driving around Newport, Ri, both came in (ok) 1450am faded in and out, while 1340am was better to get in that area. I could also pick up 1090am in that area (Newport, RI) (W I L D 1090am from Boston) The signal was (fuzzie) but you can still hear it.

Doesn't Barry Scott do a Christmas/holiday show of L45's tunes like once before the holidays? I know he was only pre-empted later on closer to December in past years.

I am just glad they worked on the voice distortion that Perry does for Santa. Last year he sounded like SATAN. He was scary!

I say Barry should look into a differetn station for the Lost 45s.

WJMN perhaps?

He can launch it with a Lost 45 Jams but still have pop records in other weeks.

The #1 weekend music show on the #1 music station.

Lost 45s on Jammin 94.5.

Pop hits of the 60s,70s,80s and possibly 90s you don't hear elsewhere on the radio.

WJMN? Oh, God, please not that.

Maybe Mike-FM. They play everything. Maybe Mix. Anything but Jammin.

Ch:4 did flip story interviewing Paula Street. No mention of 105.7 though?

Channel 4 and WODS are both owned by CBS. WROR is a competitor. Why would they mention them.

Must have been a slow news day. Christmas flips happen every year, so I don't see how its news.

J.J.

Its great that you are LOVING it. Although, what else would you say on here, right? Problem is, I know of NO ONE in my extended family old, young, female or male who is happy with the change. You have lost regular listeners to WROR with the departure of Dale....Now with ROR playing xmass music as well, the chance to get them back is now also gone, hence the SAME EXACT FORMAT on the competitions station.

Please, explain to us the reason why that isn't troublng, and don't give us the ol phone responce thing. Of course people you talk to on the phone are loving it.

WBMX already HAD their turn.

WMKK is too rock 80s heavy and don't do announcers. Besides 93.7 had their turn too two formats ago

Even if it DID go to 94.5 that doesn't mean you have to listen the rest of the week.
