I believe you may be talking about my friend and broadcasting brother L.A. Freeman, who went to Fayetteville from Lenoir's WKVS. I sent him an e-mail to let him know he's become a discussion topic here. I think he can provide more details. Kicks 103.3 is the one Lenoir radio station I didn't work for. I worked for WKGX, 1978-1979, and WJRI for more years than I can remember, starting in November, 1980. Those were some fun times in radio. L.A and I worked togther at WXRC, Hickory, in 1986-1987, when it was something resembling an album rock station. All this happened in an era when radio was fun.
