Oliver Stone's Untold History of the United States

Has anyone caught the arrogant attempt by Oliver Stone to rewrite history? His attempt to provide the "untold" story of Henry Wallace during World War II is laughable at best, dishonest at its worst. His take on World War II and "how badly we treated the Russians at the end of the war" is beyond belief. After several attempts to rewrite history in his movies, ( Nixon, JFK and others) he now thinks he can rewrite the entire 20th century. Sad.
 
Most people alive today have no memory of Henry Wallace and only those historians specializing in WWII seem to know much about him.

But your post will not provide them any help in understanding your criticism of Oliver Stone either.

The documentary referenced by the OP is airing on Showtime.
 
I think we can all understand the criticism of Oliver Stone there.

Stone has found his genre in the "untold" side of history. Maybe it was "untold" because....nah, too easy.

I have watched this episode and found nothing "untold" nor untrue (with the exception of the claims of Soviet T-34 tanks and IL-2 aircraft being "better" than their German counterparts - they were not). Perhaps you should be specific in your criticism so we can have an educated discussion. To those of us who have studied the 20th Century in great detail this was nothing more than a boring rehash of known facts.

BTW, the "Wallace" content was easily less than five minutes of the entire show. There was nothing of significance revealed there either. Perhaps there is more to come. I'll stay tuned.
 
I recall that my parents (unapologetic leftists) told me that they voted for Henry Wallace for President in 1948. Wallace ran on the Progressive party ticket against Truman and Dewey.

Howard Zinn has only been dead a couple of years, and already everyone is trying
to horn in on his act. ::)
