The President calling the Cambridge MA. police actions stupid after making the observation that he did not know all of the facts does to me show some prejudice. Then you have his association with Rev. Wright for twenty years. Maybe not a racist but certainly not very fair minded. Glenn Beck does what he does to make a point. I enjoy him and listen to him but I can not take over 15 minutes worth of Rush. Hannity is only a little less extreme so I would call him Rush-Lite, not Beck.
To all who are critical of Beck, I suggest that you get his books, especially "Common Sense" or his newest, "Arguing With Idiots" and take the time to research his points and "facts". He is not perfect but he is trying to get out the truth, if he is also entertaining then that is just good radio, and television and he isn't making me afraid but the politicians certainly are.
Beck makes his living by appealing not to the intellect of his listeners/viewers, but their emotions. It's a fairly common practice among cable news entertainers. Make your audience scared or angry about anything, from the gummint taking your guns, "death panels", pink-pistol carrying lesbian gangs roaming the streets of DC (thank you Bill O'Reilly), basically anything. Create an "us versus them" mentality so the audience thinks they can only trust you, and then you can get them to do anything, for instance, march on Washington DC. Sometimes visibly crying on the air helps, but I'm not really sure why.
