Radio in the past was more volatile. That is very true. However, in the past you had MANY more other owners to work for. Now most markets are tied up with 4 or 5 players. Basically if you're kicked to the curb by one of these big companies, there's less chance by pure statistics that you can find another gig in town. So, basically, once again everyone looses except the jackasses that are at the top of the McRadio companies.

Rule #1 of today's radio: The jerks always win.

Rule #2 of today's radio: The FCC is here to assist McRadio to control all the public airwaves.

Rule #3 of today's radio: If you don't like what you hear, see rule #1 and #2.

Rule #4 of today's radio: we ask folks like u to politely step aside and let the rest of us get on with our careers. if it's that bad, pls. do us all a favor and GET OUT. thankx

It's always obvious who still works for CC I think the guy who started this thread used to sing the same song when CC was giving him his dream job.

Haven't you figured out the CC corporate culture after all this time????????? This company has not been good for listeners, has not been good for career radio people and has not been good for investors

anytime i read a piss n' moan comment about any large radio company, the old & tired "they don't care about people" and "they hate their listeners" and "all the care about is money" 99% of the time it's a disgruntled EX-employee who spends their time trashing radio vs. improving themselves and becoming more valuable to their employer and our industry

Monopolism is not capitalism. Capitalism almost always delivers the goods, but it does require real competition. Monopolism never does, unless its regulated and controlled like the so called natural monopolies were--electric utilities for example. You can't expect the blessings of capitalism if you don't have the competition.
