So what kind of bands were played the most on that station?

indie bands that were big (Death Cab, Modest Mouse) and loads of bands no one cared about
they also had tons of shows run by "celebrities" that played music.

The station was also the first in LA to play Kings of Leon and Airborne Toxic Event, bands which are now heard on 98.7 and KROQ, so someone must care about them.

KOL havent been a new band in ages. Airborne are local so not surprising. You named 2 bands that turned out to be big. You forget the umpteen times I heard am old James or Buffalo Tom song that the vast majority of the world didn't know then, much less almost 20 years later
