I was kind of surprised nobody posted anything on this as of yet, but I wanted to start a thread for anyone to express sympathy to the Radio One Columbus staff, as well as Eugene Brown's family, in the wake of his tragic death on Thursday afternoon.

Those not familiar with the circumstances can find more information here:

We should also keep in our thoughts and prayers Brown's wife Alicia.

Saw a news story on NBC4 tonight about him. Very sad and tragic.

My thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and co workers.

I was very sadden to hear of the lost of my former dear co-worker and friend Eugene "Brownie" Amber and I (Vonroy) express our deepest sympathy to the Brown family, and pray that you will find the strength to celebrate his life with the honor he so richly deserves, we will exault our Heavenly Father in all of this for only he knows why a tragedy such as this had to happen. I pray for my Radio-family back in Columbus and we will all miss him very much!!!

I didn't know the man, but certainly respect him as a broadcaster. A tragedy like this should not happen, period. There's way too much violence in the world.

My condolences to his family and friends.

Unfortunately, I did know the man. Unfortunate, since Gene truly was one of the greatest people I ever worked with, was fair and giving, a great family man, and a true example of what a man, and a broadcaster should be.

To say I was horrified, was an understatement, The whole incident still sickens me, and it shows just how unexpectedly unfair life can be. I can only hope that his family does ok, and that the community will band together to find the culprit who committed this senseless act.
