Opie And Anthony Spreads To Washington, D.C., Detroit, Columbus And Rochester CBS RADIO and XM Satellite Radio (Nasdaq: XMSR) today announced four additional markets to broadcast THE OPIE AND ANTHONY SHOW. Beginning on Monday, June 5, the three-hour program will be heard on WXYT-AM 1270 in Detroit (6:00-9:00AM), WAZU-FM 107.1 in Columbus (3:00-6:00PM) and WZNE-FM 94.1 in Rochester (2:00-5:00PM). WJFK-FM 106.7 FREE FM in Washington, D.C. debuts the program on Monday, June 26 (10:00AM-1:00PM). In addition, WJFK-FM will feature an online audio simulcast of the show on their website www.1067freefm.com.

According to FMQB, the O & A virus is contained, due to management griping. FMQB has the skinny.There are suggestions in the report that Citadel stations in CT, RI and even Buffalo, NY are rumored to be involved in a multi market deal to expand O&A. However, that is now on hold.In the "What if" scenario, if this plays out, could either of these situations happen?1: O and A go to the Edge, on delay, replacing Bull2: O and A go to Edge, S/R move to 97 Rock3: O and A go to 97 Rock

O&A at Citadel Buffalo?
There's no way that O&A go to 97-Rock. As far as The Edge is concerned, anything seems possible there. Rumor has it that Norton & Co. recently signed a new contract, and that S&R are working without one. Whether Citadel's serious about putting O&A on in Buffalo is interesting. Are they using the threat of O&A to extract a contract from S&R, or are they thinking of bumping one of their other jocks? Adam 12 was recently bumped to 7PM-Midnight by Val Townsend. Don't see them headed for either Citadel station in Buffalo right now...if for no other reason than that both of those stations are in the "it ain't broke so don't fix it" situation right now. The logical place for them to go in Buffalo is WBUF, where the move would be easily made as long as CBS still owns the property (and give the station a viable morning show once again without adding a lot of expense to the bottom line). If they worked out well there, they'd raise 'BUF's asking price as part of the possible sale of the Buffalo cluster as well.

I agree... but the very argument you mention (good morning show, not much bottom line issues) may be what brings O&A to the Edge.

This article ran just a short while ago, if O&A are in Buffalo on the Edge, what will happen with Shredd and Ragan??? Will the Edge switch formats? Will S&R jump ship to 97 Rock as another poster suggested? Interesting, I hope they both do well out of this, they are great guys!!! You don't always meet people like that in radio, good luck guys.

Shred and Regan are going to Mix 999 in Toronto in 3 weeks to do mornings there. (I am kidding...right?) Mix in the meantime has fired Humble Howard, and...
