because it seems very likely thats where the "valley #1 hit music station" war is headed! Will CBS' deep pockets prevail? Because I'm guessing Riviera has no budget and no interest in going back to court thanks to kid stevens. It's common sense when you look at the simplicity of the PPM war. Top 40 wins! Does stick range matter? Yes indeed and Power does not have that! Think realisitically when it comes to PPM peoples. Is a Power/Jamz listener going to carry around a beeper like device that "only" TRACKS their listening habits? Doubt it! As most of those listeners probably know someone or themselves are just getting off of parole and still have tan lines on their ankle to prove the existance of the law. Don't laugh it's fairly common in the community so why wouldn't those listeners be suspicious of such a device that includes the words "tracking"?

Bottom line now i'm my opinion is both stations are struggling! Jamz with their staff and Power with it's Identity! Jamz' PD would rather spend his days in the worst part of California and I'm sure finds it bothersome being asked to come check up on Phoenix. Powers PD would also love to be Programming somewhere in California or Colorado, NY, DC, Texas or Nevada, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Hawaii hell even Alaska! Mr Deewayne Weaver aka Inside Radio Insider is dying to get out and has applied for every PD job ever posted on allaccess or R&R with no takers.

In the end i'm guessing Jamz will win the #1 hit music station court battle and it's boss will celebrate by soliciting some fun. And Power PD will protest by sulking alone in his office while refusing to ever wear deodorant.
 
Quite frankly, it won't matter who has what postioner when PPM comes out. Stations that you cannot hear will become forgetten, period. Like the ol' saying goes..."gee, I'll never forget ol' what's his name?

The beauty of PPM is all the diary talk finally goes away. In Houston we put in 4 cold segs an hour. But once it hits Phoenix, I don't expect any of the stations that you have to shove a ball of aluminum foil up your @$$ while holding your antenna to listen while inside your house to be players.

Now that's an explanation we all can understand! How ironic it would be for some of the rimshots to move back to their original cities of license!
