OT:( 7/09/10) 7 Year Anniversary of this Historic event!

Randall Simon is now playing for an Independent League team in Rockford, Illinois
(revealing Sausagegate to be the highlight of his career).

Personally I found the "Al Martin has Two Wives" story to be more compelling.
 
I had met Randall Simon in Cranberry Twp. at a Giant Eagle autograph signing the year before this happened. He was such a nice guy and knew that his intent was humorous and never to hurt or endanger one of the girls in the sausage outfits.
 
The young lady who wore the sausage costume also said that he was quite gracious in his apology.
Nobody really believed he was a sick individual who would deliberately try and hurt someone with a bat.

The amazing piece of that Al Martin story is that when Wife #2 called the domestic in to the cops,
the Sheriffs Deputy who responded was Micah Johnson, a Pittsburgh native and former news director
at WTOV in Steubenville. Talk about your bad luck! Not only do you go down on a bigamy bust, but
the responding officer is a former TV News Director from the market where you played major league
baseball!
