out of all the streaming radio companys....

I think Liquid Compass streams sound pretty good as well. Listening to the Entercom stations, they all sound pretty crisp. Shame about some of the Clear Channel streams, while some like KUBE 93 and Wild 95.5 have improved, others such as 103.5 KTU have gone competely down the toilet in terms of quality. Also many Clear Channels streams are quite bad about cutting to commercial break filler mid sentence and chopping off the start of a song when returning from an ad break.
______________

I suspect its the engineers and IT folks whom setup the streams caring more than the streaming host quality, their just a "bit pusher" All the magic happens at the Studio.

Sounds like sloppy programming at the station, Or they have it manually setup and the jock is triggering it to late. No excuse though. I suspect until they can make $$$$$$$ off their webstreams, they will contiune to let them slide and be second to the AM/FM broadcasts, like they are doing with their HD Radio broadcasts (dead air, overlapping tracks, sometimes off the wall songs appearing)

You think THAT is bad, Citadel-owned KODJ in Salt Lake City will play one ad and then cut to a song that's NOT heard on the radio locally. And even then, it's either joined in progress or the end is cut off.

You would *think* than a top notch oldies station such as KODJ would be smart enough to use some of the REALLY old stuff from the early days of Rock N' Roll back in the '50s if they only had two minutes or less to fill, wouldn't you? Like *DOH!*

An example of this occured over the weekend. During one of their breaks, instead of cutting into a song in progress or starting one from the beginning, but chopping off the end to go back to the local broadcast, they ran an Elvis Presley track that was streamed IN ITS ENTIRETY. And they STILL had PLENTY of time before the DJ read off the weather forecast copy, which was also heard in its entirety (they make sure of this).

And here's a quick little note of irony. Guess which TV station the guy whose weather forecasts are read by KODJ jocks works for. Anyone care to take a WILD guess? Give up?

Would you believe Clear Channel-owned KTVX 4?

How's THAT for irony?

Thoughts?

Just my $.02 worth :)

Cheers :)
______________
