Sorry about that. PHILADELPHIA - November 11, 2008 (WPVI) -- Due to a fire at the Channel 6 transmitter site, broadcasts are interrupted for some viewers.

The problem is affecting viewers who watch 6abc on Direct TV, dish, and regular antennas.

A fire in a transformer at our transmitter site in Roxborough has been interrupting our ability to broadcast.

Viewers with cable have experienced no interruptions.

DISH Gets CPTV the PBS affiliate in Hartford over the air as well. Channel 24 signs off at Midnite but runs something called CPTV Allnight on most cable systems. So from 12AM-645AM on DISH on 24 there are colors bars with the words WEDH Please Stand By on the screen. It's Generic from Dish Network.

They also recieve the LowPower Azteca America OTA. You should see it what a joke. It's snowy all the time and worse in the summer. Sometimes its so bad the DISH takes the channel off and puts up Color Bars that say WHCT Please Stand By. Other times there's a message that says Please Don't Call. We're Aware of the Problem. We'll return this channel as soon as possible.

Hartford is a Top 35 Market. So I consider it to be major.

Wow, that one viewer of Azteca/Hartford must be quite persistent!
 
I think DirecTv receives ota signals in Center City near, if not on the PECO bldg. Is it just WPVI-TV or WPVI-DT also? I think Comcast started receiving local broadcasts years ago. That's why we never lost channel 57 when they were off the air.
