Hit the road, Jack (FM) - Salt Lake City talker KLO (1430) buys KJQN (103.1). July 16 will be the end of variety hits "Jack FM" on KJQN, and its six on-channel boosters. The Salt Lake Tribune says Capital Broadcasting will simulcast its "World Class Talk" KLO, Ogden (1430) on KJQN, as it begins an LMA and then purchase of the full Class C licensed to Coalville. It’s located on the other side of the mountain from Salt Lake City and the rest of the Wasatch Front, which is why it requires such an unusual battery of boosters. They’re in Ogden, Park City, Provo, Bountiful, Salt Lake City and North Salt Lake. Seller is the Larry Patrick-run SLC Divestiture Trust, set up in late 2010 to take stations that Simmons Media wasn't able to keep, under FCC local-ownership regulations. The Webb family bought KLO in 1985. Today KLO (25,000 watts daytime, 5,000 watts at night) is owned by John C. Webb and Richard Webb.
