Pat Robertson Steps Down as Daily Host of The 700 Club After 60 Years

Does that mean The 700 Club can be taken off Freeform since Pat Robertson is now retired from the show? I'm surprised that Disney didn't even try and pay Pat what he wanted I know Disney only said that it was too much when they rebranded ABC Family to Freeform. I was kinda surprised that Pat never went after ABC Family/Freeform programs I guess maybe he got what he wanted they air The 700 Club and his Telethon at the end of Jan on a Sunday from 12PM to 12AM.

I doubt it.

I worked for a religious station along coastal New Hampshire back in 2005 that carried focus on the family.. i had a nickname for him "Dr Gasbag".. came up with it after listening to some of his crazy rants on the air.... including one entire show on how they must fight gay marriage and not let it happen, and if people dont listening dont fight against it, theyre evil, etc

Ironic, being that i was a gay guy working at a religious station but i digress.. lol

Good riddance to him, and hopefully The 700 Club itself will follow.

I remember catching Pat while flipping through the channels back in the '80s. He was holding up a copy of Stevie Nicks' new album and lamenting how such a pretty lady could sing about a witch, referring, of course, to Fleetwood Mac's '70s hit "Rhiannon." Not sure, but I think the segment wound up with Pat closing his eyes and praying for her.

I’m glad that old gasbag is finally taking himself out to pasture. Good riddance indeed.

I mentioned this in another discussion thread days ago: One of the morning shows I used to listen to had a guy that did a pretty spot-on impression of Robertson. He'd "pray" against those who's actions or viewpoints he disagreed with, he'd wish fiery hell and damnation on them and say the most un-Christlike things about whomever was in his crosshairs at that particular moment, then end each of those mini rants with "In Jesus' name, I pray". That impression wasn't always far from reality.

He could be an interesting watch at times. Somewhat unique style, but pulling from the tv evangelicals that proceeded him. Of course this occupation is half religion, half the host’s personality. The two work hand in hand in this. From the beginning of the tv age.
